"The trouble with eating Italian food is that five or six days later you're hungry again" (George Miller). George Miller definitely knew what he was talking about in saying Italian food keeps you filled for a few days or more. When I think of this quote I think of a group of Italian restaurants in Illinois called Avanti's. Avanti's Ristorante is the Home of the Gondola where happiness is served with a side of absolutely delicious sweetbread. The restaurant has been serving customers since 1966 and is Central Illinois' most award winning group of Italian restaurants. Personally, I would give Avanti's ristorante a 4 out of 5 star rating. Avanti's is a great family restaurant with adequate service and reasonable prices, a little dirty though. On their menu, there are some particularly delicious items. For example, their famous gondolas have a reputable taste. The sweetbread served with your meal is well worth your trip. Another well-known dish I like is their classic spaghetti. If you ever stop in Peoria, Illinois and are kraving some Italian food I recommend Avanti's Ristorante.
